No, the anti-heel enthusiast hasn’t bought into the Birkenstock Boston gang, nor has she consulted her go-to dressers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen at The Row. Instead, J-Law headed straight to one of the most haute purveyors of the backless shoe style of 2022: Hermès.
The actor took her new calfskin Carlotta mules, bearing the French brand’s signature Kelly buckle (the same one that appears on the bag style named after Grace Kelly), to the studio to film Variety’s Actors on Actors series with Viola Davis. Teamed with a black chunky ribbed-knit polo dress and crystal accessories, including HVN’s Jupiter hoops, Lawrence, with her blonde mermaid hair, put a Hollywood spin on beatnik chic.

While scores of influencers fell for the comfy-luxe clogs after Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski debuted them for spring/summer 2021 – they were the perfect post-pandemic stepping stone from slippers to reality – Lawrence already had a back catalogue of sole-soothing shoes to ease her reintegration into society.
Her clogs join the beloved jelly shoes, sports sock pumps and Ugg boots that the star lives in day to day, which frequently garner reactions from the press. This is the woman who still wears her years-old Adidas slides and doesn’t give two hoots what anyone thinks; the woman who will always choose the glittery versions of Melissa’s rubber fisherman sandals, because well, why not?
