There’s nothing great about sleeping on a plane, except maybe the whirring white noise of the engines — and that’s a stretch. The seats never go back enough to actually feel comfortable. If you’re sitting by the window, at least you can lean your head against it for support. Otherwise, you can lean forward and put your head on the tray table or try sleeping sitting up. Although, you may be choosing the first option once you see this unique travel pillow.

TikTok users are fascinated (as am I) by this inflatable travel pillow that makes sleeping on a plane so much comfier. TikToker @nikidetrich first shared the travel hack in a video on her account on June 27. Since then, it has racked up 1.6 million views.

The pillow looks a lot like the Kimiandy Inflatable Travel Pillow from Amazon that retails for $23.95, but its benefits seem pretty priceless. It has spaces for your face and hands to rest and supports your upper body, so it’s not flailing around as you sleep. (Side note: Does anyone else flail around when you sleep sitting up on a plane until you flail too much and wake yourself up? Just me? OK, cool.)

You can place the inflatable pillow on your lap or over the tray table to support your body and sleep more comfortably. It also comes with an eye mask, ear plugs and a small bag to store the pillow in.

So far, more than 1,5000 Amazon shoppers give it a five-star rating as well.

“This travel pillow was amazing! My flight was delayed 6 hours, and I even used this to sleep in my chair at the airport. I slept so good with this!” wrote one reviewer. “I didn’t have a stiff neck when I woke up like I normally would after sleeping on the plane!”

“I was very excited to see that the pillow is as compact as advertised, stows easily and is quite sturdy,” wrote another reviewer. “In the ads and some of the reviews, it looks like the people are barely resting their heads on the pillow. I put ‘sleeping weight’ on it, and it barely budged.”

Apparently, it doesn’t take long to inflate either. One Amazon reviewer said, “It blew up in four to five breaths. The fifth breath was just to make sure it was extra filled to be extra sturdy. [Plus,] it instantly deflates to fit into the small bag.”

The pillow comes in light gray, dark gray, navy blue and black. The price may vary a bit based on the color you choose. Nonetheless, if you have a long-haul flight coming up and you want to try to get some shut-eye before you land, the Kimiandy Inflatable Travel Pillow is worth a shot.
